A look back on this week’s economic development headlines, announcements, and other share-worthy news from the Ann Arbor region.

M25 published its Best Startup Cities in the Midwest and ranked Ann Arbor at #6. A few notes: the study did not control for population and some metro areas like Chicago and Minneapolis included neighboring regions while the study chose to separate Ann Arbor and Detroit. A recent LinkedIn blog states, “When rent gets ridiculous, talent runs away.” Simply, high-cost cities like Boston, Seattle, and San Francisco are having a harder time with talent attraction. This opens the door for lower-cost-of-living places in the U.S. like Ann Arbor.
