The Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) roadshow recently pulled into Weber’s in Ann Arbor to provide an update to MMA members on how they can find new growth opportunities through the MEDC’s recently launched Pure Michigan Business Connect program.

Ann Arbor SPARK’s President & CEO Paul Krutko welcomed the group to the region before MEDC’s Vince Nystrom and Jake Schroeder began a presentation on the new program.

The program is part of the MEDC’s philosophical evolution from a “hunter/gatherer” model of economic development to a model focused on nurturing existing firms that are primed for growth.  The program will help Michigan companies find opportunities to help them grow and expand.  By participating in the program, companies can find procurement resources to expand their supply chain, find new business opportunities, access a new business-to-business network and receive business assistance at little to no cost involving finance, legal, accounting, and other services.

The Pure Michigan Business Connect program is supported by three primary pillars:

Access to Business Support Services – Professional pro-bono services available to entrepreneurs and small businesses

Increasing Procurement in Michigan – Activities done on the demand side of the equation, connecting demand with supply

Business-to-Business Directory – A new website to help companies find new opportunities

I encourage you to take advantage of the puremichiganb2b capability to post opportunities that you want members to have access to. From products and services offered to special trainings and seminars that might be of interest to other Michigan businesses, this is a convenient resource for all members.
