FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – JANUARY 9, 2014 – ANN ARBOR, MICH. — Systems in Motion (SIM), a leading provider of enterprise technology consulting and solutions, is moving forward with aggressive growth plans in the next six months. As the company’s business continues to grow, both with existing clients and through new business development, SIM is looking to add at least 150 new employees in the next year; the majority of positions are expected to be in their Michigan Delivery Center, located in Pittsfield Charter Township.

SIM is looking for qualified technical specialists to fill various roles in Agile application development and Business Intelligence, including: Architects and Software Developers, Software Quality Assurance Testers, Data Scientists, and Database Administrators.

Several positions are already available on SPARK’s Talent Portal.

The company is focusing its efforts on identifying and recruiting talent in the Ann Arbor region, from recent college graduates to experienced professionals at all levels. To support its expansion, SIM recently participated in Ann Arbor SPARK’s Java Development Cohort retraining program and hosted a career day for the program graduates.

“We’re very excited to be in Ann Arbor, and help drive local workforce development. There are many positive things happening in our company today and we expect our growth to continue to accelerate, as more enterprises across the US understand the value of our Ann Arbor workforce,” said Colin Chapman, VP and general manager at SIM. “The biggest hurdle to a company’s growth is finding the right talent. We believe that the creative ways we add great people to our team, the work we do with local Universities, local government organizations and technical retraining programs will be integral to our future success”.

Sarah Harper, HR manager at SIM also added: “Having gotten to the size we are at now, we are focusing more on creating a great environment for our current employees and making sure that they enjoy working here and get the development opportunities to continue grow professionally.”

“SIM is part of the growing number of businesses tapping in to the Ann Arbor region’s deep pool of technical, software talent,” said Paul Krutko, president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK. “For a growing business like SIM, being able to access people with the right skills is absolutely critical to maintain consistent, steady growth. Ann Arbor SPARK’s work with companies like SIM includes posting jobs to our talent portal and making connections with universities to ensure that in-demand skills are a focus for education.”

Although the company is hiring employees at various levels of expertise, they are particularly focused on recruiting recent college graduates from computer science and computer engineering programs to fill junior level positions. Junior employees typically start their career path with SIM with an On the Job Training program, where they are mentored by senior level specialists in both technical skills and acclamation to the Agile environment. This year, the company’s recruiting team participated in seven local University career fairs and hosted two career day events in an effort to identify and attract new talent.

SIM, which was founded in 2009, has experienced 50 percent growth in the number of its employees in 2013, and currently employs more than 200 at its Pittsfield Charter Township delivery center.
