Ann Arbor, MI (1/28/2013) – More than 15,000 babies will be born premature in Michigan this year, and business leader Paul Krutko is working with the March of Dimes to change this.
Paul, president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK, knows how important the March of Dimes mission is. As a father and grandparent, he has taken on the role of March of Dimes Chair for Washtenaw County to raise awareness and important funding to provide for babies who are born premature or with birth defects. Paul has made the commitment to raise $25,000 in new revenue in Washtenaw County.
“The work of the March of Dimes touches my heart as a father and grandfather. It brings into focus what we do at Ann Arbor SPARK in helping the technological and bioscience innovations being created in our community be put to work to benefit our community. These innovations help the very youngest and smallest and most vulnerable of us be able to lead happy and productive lives.”
This year, Paul will focus on connecting new companies to the different events March of Dimes organizes in Washtenaw County to help increase mission awareness and funds. “We’re so excited to have Paul on board to help us at a local level, especially as we celebrate our 75th anniversary of the March of Dimes,” said Enna Whitted, Division Director for March of Dimes. “His passion for the cause and commitment to helping our babies will be a huge driving factor in the success of our events. We are grateful for his commitment.”
March for Babies, the March of Dimes largest fundraiser, is slotted for Sunday, May 5th at Hudson Mills Metropark. Money raised helps to fund lifesaving research and education programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies.
