Montreal, Canada-based Longbow Advantage, a supply chain software development company that specializes in warehouse and workforce management software, will open its first U.S. facility in Ann Arbor.  Ann Arbor SPARK assisted Longbow Advantage in securing a $250,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant, awarded today.

“Longbow Advantage is the latest example of a global company choosing Ann Arbor,” said Paul Krutko, president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK.  “It’s noteworthy that this region will be home to Longbow’s first U.S. operations, and that the company chose Ann Arbor over a competing site in Chicago.  Longbow was attracted by Ann Arbor’s high tech talent, which will meet its need to initially hire 32 computer programmers.”

Ann Arbor SPARK will support Longbow Advantage’s talent and recruitment needs as it establishes its office in the region.  It committed to helping the company through talent consulting and marketing related to Longbow Advantage’s participation in recruiting or job fairs.

Longbow Advantage was founded in 2002. It is a JDA Alliance Partner that specializes in RedPrairie warehouse and workforce management implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Recognized for its leadership and expertise, Longbow Advantage specialists combine operational experience, technical skill, and system knowledge to help companies get maximum return on investment from JDA supply chain products.

Currently, Longbow Advantage expects to have its Ann Arbor office operation by the end of 2014.
