Economic Development Council of Livingston County Annual Meeting To Celebrate a Year of Redefining Normal

The Economic Development Council of Livingston County (EDCLC) will gather for its annual meeting at the Crystal Gardens in Howell, MI the evening of November 10 to recognize growth and success in the region. During the program, three awards will be presented to local businesses in the following categories: Resilience Award, Talent Innovator of the Year, and Project of the Year.

Presenting the event is Ann Arbor SPARK, which in partnership with the Economic Development Council of Livingston County, provides economic development services to the area.

“Over the past few years, economic developers focused much of their efforts on addressing repercussions brought on by the pandemic,” said Marcia Gebarowski, business development director for Livingston County. “At this year’s annual meeting, we will celebrate recent successes that Livingston County businesses achieved while overcoming those challenges.”

The event will also feature a panel discussion titled Redefining Normal: Adapting to New Workplace Expectations, led by Janelle Best, president of the Howell Chamber of Commerce. Panelists include Mary Anne Marr, executive director of real estate for Consumers Energy; Jasmit Kaur, CEO of Culturebie; Nathan Burd, Livingston County administrator; and Dan Roman, a Menlo Innovations software developer.

“We’re very excited to bring Livingston County’s business community together to hear about recent and upcoming projects, as well as engage in meaningful conversations,” said EDCLC board chair Nathan Burd. “Even more so, we look forward to the camaraderie that is always present during this annual event.”

The annual meeting is sponsored by DTE Energy, Lake Trust Credit Union, St. Joseph Mercy Health System, Bank of Ann Arbor, Comcast, ITC, Consumers Energy, KW Corporation, and Ranger Power.
