Downtown Ypsilanti is the Place to be the First Friday of Every Month

When artists, makers, and doers in Ypsilanti wanted a place to network, sell, and grow, they created one. Established in 2013, First Fridays Ypsilanti (FFY) showcases artistic creations through a themed walking tour. This community-centric event invites attendees to discover businesses, artists, and spaces that are normally not accessible to the public.

FFY’s theme changes by month and Ann Arbor SPARK is excited that August’s theme is INNOVATION! Innovation is everywhere — in restaurants, artist’s studios, transportation, and in unexpected everyday things like your breathing (more on this later). Ypsilanti’s artists and businesses are excited to collaborate and share with the greater community how they embody innovation.

Join Ann Arbor SPARK for the August First Fridays Ypsilanti on Friday, August 2 at the SPARK East Innovation Center (SEIC). Let us know you’re coming!

We are excited to participate in FFY for the first time since SPARK East’s major renovation. During the event, the community can meet with SPARK staff and businesses currently incubated at the center. We’ll be highlighting the services and resources available at SEIC, showcasing the innovative work of AuraLab who is advancing meditation through its Breathscape app, and welcoming local artist Jermaine Dickerson who SPARK recently commissioned to create a mural in the newly renovated event space. During your visit, grab some sweet and salty treats to fuel your FFY journey!
