Chicago skyline created a great backdrop for our MichAgain event

After grabbing a quick lunch at RJ Grunts, we were ready to go prepare for our MichAGAIN Alumni event in Chicago.

We spread the good news that is coming out of Michigan at Maggiano’s restaurant downtown. We welcomed over 50 excited alumni from various Michigan Universities. There was definitely a strong University of Michigan presence, but we also had many representatives from Michigan State University and Western Michigan University. It was great to see such positive faces looking to come back to Michigan for job opportunities.

Stephen Forrest, Vice President of Research at the University of Michigan, opened the event with a great update of the exciting developments around the University of Michigan’s campus. The group then heard from Bachelorette winner, Ed Swiderski. Ed discussed his path from Michigan native to successful IT entrepreneur and how he is reinvesting in Michigan.  LeRoy Newland from General Electric had the story all the attendees were waiting for…the exciting news from GE’s Grace Lake IT Tech Center and the many career opportunities that are waiting for them in Michigan.

After great conversations and tickets to the Big Chill Hockey Game were awarded, it was time to catch the end of the Michigan State vs. Duke basketball game!
