Ann Arbor, Michigan, May 9, 2018 – Bank of Ann Arbor is pleased to announce that it will present the first annual Live @ Tech Trek featuring live bands from noon to 3pm followed by a DJ spinning music until 7pm. The event will be held on Friday, June 15th at the corner of Washington and South Fifth Avenue in downtown Ann Arbor. Washington Street between S. Fifth Avenue and Division will be closed for the music festival and the inaugural Mobility Row featuring self-driving shuttles to leading edge connected car technology.

As part of the 2018 A2Tech360 schedule of events, Bank of Ann Arbor will offer live music, food trucks, and a great time, immediately following the conclusion of the highly popular Tech Talk event.

“We are very excited to announce the line-up for the first ever, Bank of Ann Arbor’s Live @ Tech Trek”, said Tim Marshall, President and CEO. “Since the first year of Ann Arbor SPARK’s Tech Trek, we have been proud sponsors and wanted to provide something different for the new multi day a2Tech360 initiative.”

Marshall added, “With our highly popular Bank of Ann Arbor Sonic Lunch concert series on Thursdays, it was a perfect fit to offer live music for this event on Friday. We are always happy to have Laith Al-Saadi on our line-up but we are equally excited to bring in local musician Jacob Sigman and Australian-based Mansionair to round out the list.”

The schedule is highlighted as follows:

Jacob Sigman – 12:15pm

Born and raised in the Mid West, Singer/Songwriter/Multi-Instrumentalist Jacob Sigman combines influences of Motown, Soul, and Contemporary Pop music to create something both new and familiar. www.jacobsigman.bandcamp.com

Mansionair – 1:15pm

The Sydney-based, Grammy-nominated trio Mansionair returns with the new single Violet City. Driven by a propulsive electronic bass, buoyant drums, eastern-style strings and lead singer Jack Froggatt’s note perfect falsetto, ‘Violet City’ is a powerful, poignant song steeped in the aloofness and pace of the city of LA.

Mansionair was born when multi-instrumentalist and producer Lachlan Bostock joined with folk singer Jack Froggatt and jazz drummer Alex Nicholls to collaborate on ‘Hold Me Down’. The chemistry between the three musicians was instantaneous and ‘Hold Me Down’ quickly amassed one million views

online within two months of release. From those early days to more recent endeavors, including a Grammy-nominated collaboration with Odesza on ‘Line of Sight’, tours with London Grammar, CHVRCHES, Florence + The Machine, and being tipped as an Amazon Artist to Watch for 2018, the band has toiled diligently to foster a loyal fan base on both sides of the globe as they work toward an album release later this year. www.mansionair.com

Laith Al-Saadi – 2:15pm

In 2016, Al-Saadi won America’s hearts and a spot in the finale of NBC’s “The Voice.” Now, he’s poised to bring his authentic blend of blues, soul and classic rock to audiences around the nation and the world.

Laith has always had the perfect combination of Midwestern hustle and incredible musical chops – honed at the University of Michigan school of music in his hometown of Ann Arbor, and on stages across the country working with legends like Taj Mahal, Luther Allison, Buddy Guy, Son Seals, Gregg Allman and B.B. King.

“Laith is one of the most diverse talents we have,” said Maroon 5 front man and “The Voice” coach Adam Levine. He continued, “Incredible guitar player, incredible singer.” Entertainment Weekly called Laith Al-Saadi “a power performer who is so legitimate and memorable.”

Audiences have agreed, propelling Al-Saadi’s most recent release, “REAL” to the top of the blues chart for five weeks and the top 20 album chart for two weeks. Laith also had four singles in the top ten iTunes singles charts, and his albums “In the Round” and “Long Time Coming” spent time at the top of the rock and album charts. Guitar World Magazine has called Laith Al-Saadi a cross between “Danny Gatton and Buddy Guy at their best,” and Guitar Center crowned him one of the top four blues guitarists in the United States.
