Ann Arbor SPARK’s Intern Social Program that included organized social outings, a Facebook group and 2-month long scavenger hunt around Ann Arbor has wrapped up.

The scavenger hunt contest participants included interns from our 10 participating startup companies, Google and Toyota.  The Scavenger Hunt was organized into three groups of places to visit around Ann Arbor.  The lowest point group included places in Ann Arbor that required a cost to attend.  Such places in the lowest point group included the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, Hill Auditorium and the Blind Pig.  The middle point group included such Ann Arbor favorites as Blimpy Burger, Zingerman’s, Kerrytown, Sonic Lunch and the U of M Museum of Art.

Places in Ann Arbor that rewarded the highest amount of points included Gallup Park, Top of the Park and an Ann Arbor treasure, the Fairy Doors around town.  The winner of the Scavenger Hunt was the intern that collected the most amount of points by submitting photos and video of themselves around town visiting the different sites.

We were incredibly pleased with the participation we received.  Many of our interns joined us for a day of canoeing down the Huron River as well as spent their free time running around Ann Arbor taking pictures and video exploring what there is to offer here during the summer.

The winner of our Scavenger Hunt was Azline Nelson, an intern at Google from Iowa that attends school in Atlanta, Georgia.  She received an iPad from the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.  The two runners-up in the contest were Melissa Moleres who is from and attends school in Houston, Texas and Alicia Glenn who is from Massachusetts and attends school in Washington D.C.
