Ann Arbor SPARK recently hired Scott Trossen as its new director, talent enhancement, and promoted Kyle DeBord to manager, business development. Trossen will manage the strategy and execution of the organization’s talent enhancement efforts. DeBord joins Ann Arbor SPARK’s business development team, which is charged with assisting businesses locate and expand in the region.
“Adding Scott, who brings a wealth of experience in helping organizations address talent needs, to the Ann Arbor SPARK team is a big win for businesses in the region,” said Paul Krutko, president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK. “Scott fills a key position on the Ann Arbor SPARK team. Kyle, whose management of Ann Arbor SPARK’s East business incubator has helped promote business growth in Eastern Washtenaw, will enhance the skills of our business development team.”
Prior to joining Ann Arbor SPARK, Trossen was founder of Trossen HR Group, an Ann Arbor-based company that provided human resources consulting and outsourcing services. Trossen has 28 years experience in the human resources profession, having previously led talent initiatives for Pfizer Global Research and Development, Eaton Corporation and GE Capital. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Capital Institute. Trossen earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin.
DeBord previously served as manager of Ann Arbor SPARK’s East business incubator. In this role, DeBord ran several programs designed to help accelerate business growth, including Ann Arbor SPARK’s entrepreneur education programs, the Starting Your Own Business series and the Expert Resource Board. In addition to serving on several local community development committees, he is a member of the Food Systems Economic Partnership board of directors. DeBord graduated with a master of public administration degree and a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan University.
