Ann Arbor SPARK wants to empower entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed for success. Anyone interested in expanding their business acumen or just refreshing familiar business practices can register for these educational programs led by experts in their field. Each one is crafted to help accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurs and small business owners.
SPARK is currently offering three separate training series. All sessions are free.
Accelerating Company Excellence (ACE) is designed to help small business owners learn new skills and reinforce best business practices by learning from subject matter experts in finance, sales, marketing, and accounting. ACE also offers the opportunity for in-person networking where business owners can share tips, challenges, and opportunities with each other.
ACE is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, UHY, and the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti SmartZone Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA) and is presented in partnership with the Michigan Small Business Development Center and Washtenaw Community College.
Every successful entrepreneur knows that customer discovery is an essential first (and ongoing) step in creating a new product, service, or business. Understanding who your potential customer is, what keeps them up at night, and what motivates them to solve those challenges, provides the foundation for everything from product development to more effective marketing and sales.
This free online event series is designed for small business owners and will cover a range of topics: DEI awareness, unconscious bias training, navigating workplace harassment, building a diverse workplace, and cultural competency. Each session will drill down into a specific topic and participants will benefit from the event’s interactive format.
