Toyota unveiled its new 2016 Tacoma at the North American International Auto Show. The 2016 Tacoma was developed and engineered at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor and designed in Ann Arbor and in Newport Beach, Calif.
Toyota has continued to expand in Ann Arbor over the course of several years; in 2014, Toyota announced several expansions to its Ann Arbor facilities. Most recently, Ann Arbor SPARK worked with state and local partners to help Toyota get the support it needed to consolidate its powertrain operations in this region, leading to an investment of $126 million and more than 250 jobs. Ann Arbor SPARK also collaborated with Toyota to provide tours of the region for workers that the company was relocating to Ann Arbor.
