Job seekers can meet with company representatives to discuss open positions, office culture, hiring tips, and more in this casual, online networking event on September 25.
The Ann Arbor region is known for its dynamic and growing tech community, and nothing demonstrates that better than a2Tech360 — the week-long series of events that puts Ann Arbor’s innovators center stage. Returning for its sixth year is the program’s flagship event, A2 Tech Trek, and part of its reimagined online experience is a new opportunity for job seekers looking to engage with hiring area companies.
Even in our current COVID crisis, companies in the region cite demand for talent as a critical opportunity to advance the tech ecosystem. In the past month alone, 22 tech jobs were posted on Ann Arbor SPARK’s job portal, and many more unfilled positions remained posted from previous months. This year’s virtual Tech Trek offers the chance to reimagine what new opportunities we could incorporate into our programming to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers. Especially exciting is, thanks to the virtual format, we’re able to reach outside the region to show those who aren’t in our community the employers and jobs that are looking for talent, and attract those new hires to Ann Arbor.
Job Seeker Trek
Known as the Job Seeker Trek, individuals interested in meeting with hiring companies will need to register separately in order to upload a copy of their resume and receive an invitation to the online venue hosting the different companies. On September 25, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., attendees will be able to join individual virtual meeting rooms where company HR representatives and recruiters will be on hand. The meeting rooms are open to all Job Seeker Trek participants and can hold multiple guests at one time.
Talent Terrace with Amy Cell Talent
Another resource for anyone attending A2 Tech Trek is the Talent Terrace hosted by Amy Cell Talent. From 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m., job seekers are invited to attend the free Activate Your Personal Elevator Pitch webinar for tips on how to hone a personal brand statement and create a strong introduction in a variety of professional situations. The Talent Terrace will remain open during the Job Seeker Trek with 30-minute themed sessions discussing Job Search Approach, Career Change, Tailored Resume, Interview Questions, Return to Work, and LinkedIn Navigation.
