Livingston County is very pleased to announce that on April 15, 2013 Moody’s Investors Service assigned a Aaa rating to the upcoming refunding bond issuances, while also affirming its Aaa credit rating of the County’s outstanding debt.
The Aaa rating is the highest credit rating awarded by Moody’s and is shared by only three (3) other counties in the State of Michigan. The County’s maintenance of sound financial operations, healthy reserves, and a modest debt burden were key factors in the top rating.
The County expects to enter the market next week to refinance two bond issues, one for Tyrone Township’s sewer system and the other for the Livingston Regional Wastewater system for savings to the customers of the system.
