Washtenaw County Tech Companies Invited to Recruit at Tech Homecoming, October 2

September 8, 2025 Talent

Tech Homecoming, the Ann Arbor region’s premier tech talent recruitment event, returns on Thursday, October 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Venue by 4M (1919 S. Industrial Hwy.). Now part of a2Tech360, Tech Homecoming is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a cornerstone event linking the region’s employers with highly skilled professionals eager to build their careers in Washtenaw County.

Connecting Talent and Opportunity

Hundreds of job seekers have already registered, including many University of Michigan alumni returning for Homecoming weekend. For employers, this represents a rare chance to connect with top-tier professionals who are both highly qualified and motivated to make Ann Arbor their long-term home.

The Ann Arbor region continues to stand out as one of the Midwest’s leading destinations for technology talent. A combination of factors makes the area especially competitive:

  • Remote-ready workforce: Professionals are increasingly seeking communities that balance career growth with quality of life. Ann Arbor provides both — offering a vibrant downtown, cultural amenities, and access to global opportunities while maintaining a cost of living that is lower than coastal tech hubs.
  • Coworking and collaboration spaces: A robust ecosystem of coworking hubs, including SPARK, Cahoots, Bamboo, Venue by 4M, and others, provides flexible options for hybrid and remote workers while fostering a culture of collaboration across startups and established companies.
  • Research and innovation pipeline: With the University of Michigan as a major anchor, Ann Arbor benefits from world-class research, steady streams of graduates, and $1.7B+ in annual research expenditures fueling commercialization and entrepreneurship.
  • National recognition: The region consistently ranks among the best Midwest cities for startups, and nearly 60% of residents hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, creating one of the most educated talent pools in the nation.

Employer Participation

Companies across Washtenaw County are encouraged to secure a table at Tech Homecoming. A $150 employer package includes a six-foot table, food and beverages, and access to an engaged pool of job seekers in a relaxed, conversational setting.

Employers already participating include: Arka, Cahoots Coworking, Digital Summer Clinic, Lynx Dx, Navitas, Optilogic, KLA, Stack Cybersecurity, Switchbox, Torc, and Yeo & Yeo. Hiring companies interested in participating are encouraged to sign up to ensure their place at the event.

Why Employers Should Participate

  • Access a nationwide pool of candidates with Michigan ties
  • Effortless setup with table, food, and drinks provided
  • A casual format that fosters authentic conversations
  • Opportunity to connect with peers and ecosystem partners in Ann Arbor’s thriving tech community

“Tech Homecoming offers a unique chance to meet candidates who are not only highly skilled but also motivated to live and work in this region,” said Jenn Hayman, senior vice president of marketing, communications, and events at Ann Arbor SPARK. “Our region blends a deep bench of tech talent with a thriving startup scene, global companies, and a growing network of coworking spaces that support flexibility and collaboration. For companies looking to grow, it’s a great opportunity to connect with top talent who see Ann Arbor as the place to build both career and community.”
