Ann Arbor SPARK is pleased to announce that Abrahm Lustgarten, award-winning investigative journalist and author of On The Move, will deliver the keynote address at its Annual Meeting on May 21 at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center.
Lustgarten’s work explores the intersection of climate change, migration, and economic development, with On The Move offering a stark look at how environmental shifts will reshape American communities—including those in Michigan. His keynote will provide data-driven insights into the future of population movement, business resilience, and regional economic strategy in the face of climate-driven change.
Each attendee will receive a copy of On The Move, with an exclusive book signing immediately following the program.
The Annual Meeting is Ann Arbor SPARK’s signature event, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to celebrate a year of economic growth, investment, and innovation.
In addition to Lustgarten’s keynote, the event will highlight 2024’s entrepreneurial and business development successes, recognize standout companies and community leaders, and explore emerging trends that will shape the region’s economic future.
“Ann Arbor SPARK’s Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the resilience and growth of our local economy,” said Paul Krutko, President and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK. “Abrahm Lustgarten’s expertise in climate migration brings a fresh perspective on how Michigan can prepare for economic opportunities and challenges ahead. His insights will be especially valuable for businesses, policymakers, and entrepreneurs navigating a rapidly changing landscape.”
Ann Arbor SPARK extends its gratitude to our keynote sponsor, the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, and premier sponsors Comcast Business and the DTE Foundation for making this event possible.
Early bird tickets are available for $75 through March 31; standard tickets are $95. The event is expected to sell out. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available — please contact Laura Berarducci, Senior Director of Development & Communications, to learn more.
