The first step towards SPARK entrepreneurial services is filling out a client intake application.
The scope of Ann Arbor SPARK’s startup services is defined and limited to specific parameters as defined by Michigan’s SmartZone legislation and the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti SmartZone Local Develop Finance Authority. As a result, we may only provide services to early-stage startup companies that meet the following guidelines.
- Company is located in the City of Ann Arbor or the City of Ypsilanti as listed on LARA and has physical operations in the designated city.
- A product-focused technology company in an innovation-based industry such as mobility, software development, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, etc.
- Intellectual property is helpful, but not required.
- A team with relevant experience and ability to execute the business model. While an ideal team size is a minimum of two founders, we can also work with you to fill critical roles.
- Scalable/high growth potential.
- Annual revenue is less than $5 million.
- The company’s private capital raised is less than $5 million.
While these are the general guidelines for engaging with SPARK’s entrepreneurial services team, identifying ways to support your startup is one of the ways we can help. This may include referrals to others within our broad network of business support organizations.
