The fifth annual Michigan Angel Summit, hosted by Ann Arbor SPARK, will take place on Monday, October 10. Part of SPARK’s annual a2tech360 program, the summit is an opportunity for individual investors to meet like-minded people from around the state and learn more about angel investing.
In addition to the day’s many opportunities for in-person networking, this year’s summit agenda includes presentations and discussions about where to find good deals, tax breaks on profits, banking scams to watch out for, and how current market turmoil may affect your investment strategy. Speakers will also revisit topics on SAFE notes and common angel mistakes. Throughout the day, attendees will hear pitches from early-stage startups.
“Angel investing by qualified investors in our state is growing,” said Skip Simms, Ann Arbor SPARK vice president and managing director of the Michigan Angel Community. “The Michigan Angel Summit is the opportunity to hear about that activity and learn about how angel investing works, both for early-stage companies as well as people interested in learning about why it’s an attractive investment activity.”
The summit’s keynote speaker this year is Peter Adams, an Angel Capital Association board member and teacher of the ACA Angel University course on exits. A Colorado-based author, investor, speaker, educator, and community leader, Adams is also the Associate Director of the Rockies Venture Fund, one of the longest-established angel investing organizations in the U.S.
The Michigan Angel Investor Summit will take place on October 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel on Boardwalk Dr. Register and view the full agenda. This event is presented by Ann Arbor SPARK and sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
