Ann Arbor SPARK is excited to announce that Loren Townes, Jr. has joined its Entrepreneurial Services team as the new Director. With nearly a decade of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and workforce development, Loren will play a key role in accelerating the growth of tech startups and early-stage companies in the region.
The Entrepreneurial Services team at Ann Arbor SPARK provides comprehensive support to startups, offering access to essential resources such as funding, mentorship, and educational programs. By fostering a collaborative environment, the team helps entrepreneurs navigate the challenges of building a successful business, from initial concept to market launch and beyond.
Loren’s extensive background includes leading the Impact Studio Incubator at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where he coached student entrepreneurs in developing social impact ventures. He also teaches a course on business leadership at Ross, focusing on the interplay between business practices and societal outcomes. Loren’s commitment to driving growth and creativity, combined with his experience in human-centric design and corporate engagement, makes him a valuable addition to the SPARK team.

Loren holds a BSBA and an MBA from Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business and is actively involved in the local business community, serving in various leadership roles with the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber.
