Eastern Michigan University logoBring on a Co-op student! The Mechanical Engineering Technology Program at Eastern Michigan University is looking for partner companies – a great way to keep talent in Michigan!

This program at EMU requires that MET students seek co-op positions when they are at the junior or senior level. These co-op positions require our students to perform engineering activities for a total of 600 hours, be compensated for their activities and then receive academic credit. They also seek Senior Design Capstone Projects from industrial sources, whereby the MET senior students will work on them in design groups for an academic year and essentially provide free engineering services for the sponsor.

The Mechanical Engineering Technology Program at Eastern Michigan University is looking for companies to partner with in the following two areas:

  1. Co-op positions for upperclassmen who are expected to work on engineering assignments for 600 hours prior to graduation. They will receive academic credit for their work.
  2. Industrial-sponsored projects, for the MET program, that will be developed by teams of MET senior students over a one-year period.

Please note that the MET  faculty at EMU have extensive industrial experience and seek to develop the program in a practical, hands-on manner. Previous co-op companies have been very pleased with the MET undergraduates and typically offer them a full-time position following graduation.
