Let’s harness the “back to school” vibe that’s in the air and focus on your own professional development. In this session with Megan Torrance, you’ll have the opportunity to create a personalized professional development plan focusing on the WHAT, WHO, and HOW you will grow in the next 3, 6, 9 months. (And you can use this technique with your team and others in your organization, too!)

WHAT: Align your learning and development goals with the key outcomes you need to produce. This ensures that they’re action-oriented, measurable, and that someone other than you also cares about them. We’ll dissect these goals into components that can be addressed via formal learning, network building, experiences, etc.

WHO: How can you leverage your network to help you meet your goals? We’ll explore strong and weak network ties and how each of these can be strategically leveraged – and how you can give back to your network in return.

HOW: You can’t boil the ocean (at least not all at once). Using the QualityMinds Agile Learning approach, you’ll make a plan for a first learning sprint to get you started. Perhaps you’ll even find a peer coach for the process right here at A2ATD!

Objectives:

  • Align learning needs with key professional (or personal!) outcomes.
  • Leverage strong and weak network links strategically to achieve outcomes.
  • Build an Agile plan for your own development.
  • Consider ways to use this approach with your colleagues, team members and others in your organization.
  • Connect with other A2ATD members and local professionals.
