Join us for an educational Nursing Innovation Conference designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to innovate and transform the face of healthcare as only nurses can!

The U-M School of Nursing Healthcare Innovation Impact Program (HiiP), is hosting its third annual Innovation Conference on October 2. This year’s theme is: “The Heart of Nursing Innovation: From Ideas to Impact”. The conference promises to be both educational and inspirational. This will be in in-person event and attendance is limited to the first 150 attendees, so register soon!

This year’s conference is bigger and better because we:

  • Have expanded our reach to all of our Great Lakes Colleagues;
  • Have revised the conference format to cover more topics, but in shorter periods of time to allow for greater breadth of important nursing innovation content and advancements;
  • Are allocating a portion of the conference to specifically address the needs and interests of two different tracks of attendees: clinical vs. research/science/academic nurses and healthcare professionals; and
  • Are including some real-life stories and examples of nurses who have, or are in the midst of, developing and/or bringing their innovations to the market for use.

Our keynote is the very dynamic Stephanie Pitts, Vice President Strategic Programs and Innovation from B. Braun Medical Inc. Stephanie is heavily involved in nurse-led innovation initiatives across the county and is a huge advocate for nurses creating in this space.

Key topics to be addressed be speakers at the conference include:

  • The various pathways to get nursing innovations to market
  • A brief primer on Design Thinking and how to apply it to nursing innovation work
  • A look at some innovation models in academia and health systems
  • A brief introduction to some business skills essentials for nurses to be familiar with as they innovate and consider commercializing
  • A few looks at AI—the state of it in nursing innovation and how it’s being used to transform healthcare
  • Digital tools and their roles in healthcare today
  • Emerging technologies to advance education and innovation in nursing
  • How to implement your nursing research program/product/service/intervention for use in the marketplace
  • …and many others

Whether you’re a faculty, student, nurse, alumni, or anyone interested in learning more about harnessing and supporting your own, or another nurse’s, innovative spirit and ideas, we look forward to seeing you.  This conference has been designed for anyone striving to make our places of learning and practice spaces where a culture of nursing innovation is growing and thriving.

The Great Lakes Regional Nursing Innovation Conference is proud to be an official a2Tech360 partner event.
