With support from Ann Arbor SPARK, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC), and Pittsfield Township, Camel Energy, a subsidiary of Camel Group Battery Academy Co., LTD, is establishing its research and development headquarters in the Ann Arbor region. The company will invest $4.6 million and create 41 jobs at its new location in Pittsfield Township. Camel Energy manufactures batteries for cars, electric vehicles, agriculture, and other applications. The company has been awarded a $300,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant by the MEDC and will also receive support in filling its new jobs from Ann Arbor SPARK.

Camel Energy will hire engineering and technical talent as it begins operations in the Ann Arbor region.

Camel Energy chose the Ann Arbor region over competing sites in Texas and California.
