ACE ’14, Michigan’s 14th Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship will be held for the 2nd straight year at Burton Manor in Livonia, MI. The date set for the all-day event is Thursday, January 30, 2014. ACE ’14 is already shaping up to be the biggest and best-attended ACE event in its 14 year history. This year’s program will provide a larger selection of breakout sessions than in past ACE events. There will also be more experts available for one-on-one advisory sessions in the Consultants’ Corridor. A day of panel discussions, breakout sessions, networking mixers, keynote speech and presentations designed to foster and support entrepreneurial activity in the State of Michigan all lead up to the announcement of winners of the ACE ’14 Elevator Pitch Competition and the GLEQ Business Plan Competition.
David Fuehrer, CEO of Bloomfield Hills based CureLauncher, an online clinical trial matchmaking service that connects patients with specific conditions to clinical trials that could help them or even save their lives, won last year’s ACE ’13 Pitch Competition. “Winning the ACE pitch competition was a springboard in CureLauncher’s path to commercialization,” says Fuehrer, “We established investor contacts that led to successfully closing our funding round. ACE is an exceptional event and an important resource for entrepreneurs and innovators.”
The ACE Elevator Pitch Competition has grown in excitement and impact over the years, but is only one of ACE ‘14’s anticipated highlights. Throughout the 8-hour event on January 30th, Livonia’s Burton Manor will teem with innovation and deal flow. Eight breakout sessions covering diverse areas such Michigan Funding Sources, Entrepreneur War Stories, and Detroit – Fostering Urban Startups and more will stimulate and educate anticipated record attendance of over 1000 entrepreneurs, investors and business enthusiasts.
Gerry Rosten, president of the New Enterprise Forum and former chair of the ACE planning committee, anticipates the best ACE ever. “In the mid-2000s, ACE typically drew 300 to 400 people, making it a ‘nice to attend’ event. Now that ACE draws 1000 people, it is the largest entrepreneurial event in the State. It is a ‘must attend’ event as everyone in the regional entrepreneurial community is there. ACE is the event to attend to make new connections and renew existing ones.”
