Build an App in a Day is a full-day, hands-on applied AI and software build experience designed for founders, students, operators, and aspiring technical builders.

This is execution-focused, not lecture based.

Participants work inside a professional developer’s enviroment using AI-assisted development workflows to scope, build, debug, and demo a functional web application in a single day, even with zero prior coding experience.

The event culminates in live demos and judging, with a $500 cash prize and up to $2,000 at full capacity.

Inaugural Launch – Traverse City:

  • 27 participants
  • 95% completion rate
  • $1,000 cash prize awarded
  • $1,895 in scholarships distributed
  • Judges from Microsoft, IBM & Zack Urlocker as Special Guest

The March 7 Ann Arbor experience is co-hosted with Adam Berk (mentor within the Google for Startups Accelerator ecosystem) and features experienced founders and operators as judges.

Participants who complete the workshop receive a certificate outlining transferable applied AI and software skills, including:

  • One-day MVP scoping and PRD definition
  • AI-assisted development in a professional developer environment
  • Python and data handling fundamentals
  • Rapid prototyping with Streamlit
  • Debugging and live demo presentation

Space is intentionally capped to maintain high execution quality.
