The first step towards SPARK entrepreneurial services is filling out a client intake application.
The Michigan Central Talent Innovation Training Fund (TITF) is a workforce development program designed for Southeast Michigan startups that are ready to hire but need help closing the specific skill gaps holding back their next milestone.
We provide direct training capital of up to $10,000 per new hire, paired with the operational support early-stage founders need to support their hiring process.
Companies who may be a strong fit are:
- A startup headquartered in or operating across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, or Washtenaw counties
- Building in tech, robotics, drones, health sciences, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, mobility, or AI
- Ready to make at least one new hire in the coming months
- Able to demonstrate your ability to pay and retain staff (revenue, capital raised, or signed contracts)
- Committed to paying at least $21.76/hour — Detroit’s livable wage standard
- Hiring talent who resides in Southeast Michigan
Interested? Here’s the dates to know:
- Apply (June 9 – July 17, 2026) Submit your application through our online portal. Takes about 30 minutes
- Review (July 18 – August 7) Applications are reviewed by an external committee of ecosystem partners to ensure fairness and rigor.
- Get Selected (August 7) Selected companies are notified and onboarded into the program.
- Hire & Train (Fall 2026) Recruit your new hire, build your training plan with our templates, and receive training capital through milestone-based payments.
