e access the internet everyday through computers and mobile phones, but other devices can exchange information over those same networks. Coffee pots, refrigerators, thermostats, and any other devices that you might what to send information to or get information from can be made “smart” by connecting them to the internet, thereby creating the Internet of Things (IoT).
In this workshop, you’ll be building a wireless doorbell camera. In doing so, you’ll learn the basics of setting up a Linux operating system on a Raspberry Pi, how to use it to host a web server, and how send and receive information over a wifi network to get information from cameras and sensors.
If you’re interested in this workshop, you may also enjoy Raspberry Pi – Sensors and Displays, where you’ll get into the nitty-gritty of communicating with more sophisticated hardware and sensors.
