Westside Art hop is Ann Arbor’s quirkiest art event! A cross between an art walk and an art fair, Art Hop springs from Ann Arbor’s lovely historic West side neighborhood. Mostly local, but also national and international artists participate. Many volunteer local hosts, exhibiting artists, and of course, art-loving visitors, browsers, and buyers, all enjoy a great day out!
It’s a direct way for artists to be able to show and sell their artwork to the public. It works by neighbors on the West side hosting an artist on their porch, in their garage, or in a tent in the driveway. Some of our artists live in the area too. As an outdoor event spaced over a couple of neighborhoods between W Liberty and Pauline, it’s unusually safe for a pandemic.
Everyone has to feel safe, not least the volunteer hosts. All the artists must wear masks and be vaccinated, and of course our visitors should as well. We’re continuing to recruit volunteer hosts for all the artists who’d love to participate. Although we may not be able to include the 60+ painters, photographers, glass and woodworkers, fiber artists and more who have taken part in the past, we expect to feature at least half of that number.
If you’re thirsting for art and missing the opportunity to browse arts and crafts, you’ve come to the right place. Join us for Art Hop on Saturday, June 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 13 from noon – 5:00 p.m.
