The Michigan Institute of Data Science (MIDAS) strengthens the University of Michigan’s preeminence in Data Science and catalyzes the transformative use of Data Science in a wide range of disciplines to achieve lasting societal impact.
Our annual symposium kicks off with a keynote presentation on “Data Feminism” by Catherine D’Ignazio, Assistant Professor of Urban Science and Planning Director at MIT and Lauren Klein, Associate Professor of English and Quantitative Theory and Methods at Emory University. On Day 2 (November 11) we’re hosting a fireside chat titled “Data Science as both a Science and a Force for Social Change” by Dr. Eric Horvitz, Technical Fellow and Chief Scientific Officer at Microsoft.
Join us for two days of virtual research talks, networking, mini workshops, poster sessions, fireside chats, and more.
