Jennifer Miller Oertel is the co-chair of the Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Practice at Bodman Law. She also serves as the Expert in Residence for Impact Investing with the Council of Michigan Foundations in which position she works to further grow and support Michigan’s impact investing ecosystem, including through the newly launched Impact Investing Hub.
A social worker who intended to study public interest law but wound up representing Wall Street, Jennifer utilizes her decades of experience in corporate and securities law to bring a unique perspective to her representation of clients which include philanthropic and similar organizations such as impact funds, individual impact investors, social enterprises, family and corporate foundations, community foundations, public charities, national and statewide membership organizations, and chambers of commerce.
Angela is a mom, anthropologist, entrepreneur, and an unabashed challenger of the status quo. She has dedicated 17 years in service as a values-driven financial advisor in the Metro Detroit region, including founding Revalue as a values-driven investment firm in 2013, and was one of the first to obtain the Chartered Sustainable Responsible Impact Investing Counselor (CSRIC) designation in the U.S. Angela has contributed countless hours to field building, public education, and infrastructure development to help build a more empathetic finance industry. You will often find her educating on the topic of financial resiliency, community capital, and conscious business management.
