68th Annual Economic Outlook Conference

from Thursday, November 19 2020 at 9:00am - Friday, November 20 2020 at 12:15pm

The University of Michigan’s Annual Economic Outlook Conference, the longest-running such event in the United States, is hosted by RSQE (Research Seminar in Quantitative Economics). In order to reach the broadest possible audience during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be offering this year’s conference for free online.

RSQE provides economic forecasts and policy analysis for the U.S. and Michigan economies. We forecast U.S. GDP and its major components as well as unemployment, prices, and interest rates. For the Michigan economy, we provide additional state level employment and income data. Our group has twice received the prestigious Blue Chip Annual Economic Forecasting Award, recognizing “accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism” in economic forecasting.

Each year, on the Thursday and Friday prior to Thanksgiving, RSQE hosts the University of Michigan’s Economic Outlook Conference. Attendees at the Conference are typically upper level business and government economists and analysts from all over the country with the Midwest having significant representation. Academics from the University of Michigan and nearby regions also attend. The conference has relevance for all sectors and provides a unique way to connect and share with the local and national economics community.
