Thank you for your interest in the Ann Arbor region!

Here are some ideas to help focus your job search, or assist a family member or friend with theirs.

First, these ideas are a follow up to those on the main job seeker page.

How’s your resume? One of our staff says he can find errors of some kind in 80% of the resumes we receive. Work to be and stay in the top 20%. Related to sharing your capabilities when asked or applying, you should have an equally appropriate LinkedIn profile. Here’s some tips.

We publish a weekly Job Seeker newsletter which many find useful for tips, job fair dates, company announcements, etc. Click here and then select “Sign up now.”

If you are considering a career change, consider whether Shifting Gears would be of benefit.

Review the growing list of professions below for specific, local ideas. Remember the SPARK Job Portal has postings in many of these areas, too.  In addition, there are national websites to monitor from for IT to (we have a blog post about Indeed) or for all types of jobs.

Students who are not US Citizens nor have Resident Alien status may benefit from the services of the Global Talent Retention Initiative of Michigan.
